Brian's Mission

Kidneys for Kids is a non-profit organization headed up by Brian Martindale, a kidney donor to a 10-year-old girl in Bay City, Michigan who was in stage IV renal failure. His kidney donation saved her life. It was a profound experience for both of them.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

In May of 2022, I launched Kidneys For Kids as a non-profit. We are now a recognized 5013c-  EIN 88-2341457.(We Received The GuideStar Silver Seal In Our 1st Year)  Kidneys For Kids purpose and mission, is to give assistance to families with a child who has kidney disease, or needs a kidney transplant. Kidneys For Kids will reimburse families for costs of their child’s kidney treatment, prescription costs, costs of special foods or therapies, or transplant costs which are not covered by insurance such as lodging, meals or transportation costs. Reimbursement will be limited to amounts of $1000 or less per family per year. There is no income limit to qualify for a micro-grant from Kidneys For Kids. Kidneys For Kids will also provide financial assistance in the same manner, for adults within the state of Michigan who are battling kidney disease, or going through kidney transplant. Kidneys For Kids also advocates to help find kidney donors for children and adults, with the kind assistance of local and national media To celebrate our new mission, I put together a plan for a 7000 mile-20 city marathon journey-which will take place between June 12th of 2023 and August 6th, using a Garber Chevrolet provided Volt Hybrid. I want to advocate personally for kids battling kidney disease, who are in need of a kidney transplant with a goal of recruiting 100 adult kidney donors for 100 children.
